An entire life’s career built upon a love and passion for the sport of fishing doesn’t just happen. First, you have to want it, I mean truly want it. Then, you have to work for it. From birth, my father and mother took me on trout fishing trips into the wilderness, where I was instilled with love, respect and reverence for the outdoors that allowed me to touch the spirit of the wild. Upon graduation at Villanova University, wanderlust set in. I hopped a plane with $100 in my wallet, to find a job and live half a year on the secluded Greek Island of Paros; fishing with the locals which ignited a fuse to explore, fish and write about the world’s eclectic cultures. Fast forward through some wild times and I’ve lived a life dedicated to search out the world’s fishing destinations that has taken me across the globe to over 45 countries, including the entire Caribbean islands, Central America, the 50 US states, Europe and afar, shaping my soul and professional career into a full time sport fishing and travel journalist.

Throughout 23 years, I’ve held continuous editorial positions at nearly every outdoor magazine existing - Saltwater Sportsman, Guy Harvey Magazine, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream – to name a few, and currently host and produce Saltwater Underground with Nick Honachefsky on The Sportsman Channel. From time to time I’m called upon as a fishing personality in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Men’s Journal, Vice Magazine, Discovery Channel and HLN network. I’ve also hosted Captain Sig and Edgar’s World’s Deadliest Catch seminar series, built a fishing show with rock star Dean Ween, and annually co-host George Poveromo’s national seminar series.

While being a part of plenty of happiness and many precarious situations in my travels, on October 29, 2012, Superstorm Sandy hit ground Zero at the Jersey Shore and literally wiped my life off the map - my entire life’s possessions, writings and photography, everything - forcing me into a brave new life. That tragedy has never defined my soul, but faith, hope and boundless positive spirit drives me, both in my work and everyday life.

As a writer, I’ve never missed a deadline, and as a fisherman, I’ve never missed an opportunity to fish. I am always thankful, dedicated to spreading the word to living a good life through the outdoors.
